Nice Hohner Bjarne Special piano accordion in excellent condition. It features two middle reeds with a switch to control one set of middle reeds on the treble side. The fine Hohner T stamped reeds are steel on aluminum reedplates. There are 26 keys where most small piano accordions only have 25. This includes the B below C also. The single reed M setting does not have tremolo and has been tuned right on pitch using A=440 Hz as the reference frequency. The double MM setting has a nice tremolo with low notes aat 2 Hz and high reeds at 6 Hz. The reeds are in excellent condition as are the original valves. This is a small model with 48 stradella basses. and multiple chords for 8 keys. It weighs only 10 pounds so delightful to hold and play compared to standard size piano accordions weighing in at 15 or 20 or more pounds. It is in excellent condition overall. The red pearloid covered wood case is in very good shape with slight wear and no missing trim pieces. It does have a few light scratches. The original bellows are in excellent condition with a little sign of wear on the tape where it rests on your knee.

The instrument is in standard A=440 Hz tuning. Final tuning occurs in situ with the reedblocks inside the case. There are 200 reeds in this instrument and every single one was evaluated individually and tuned if required.

The switches for the reeds work great. The keyboard is nice with all keytops level. The bass strap looks original and good. Both bellows straps look original and function fine. It has shoulder strap brackets and I will include two used shoulder straps that were on the instrument when I got it. It has what looks to be the original, simple hard case (sans internal padding) that has kept it in nice condition.
