Classic Hohner burl G/C button accordion made in Germany. It is in very good condition. The simulated burl wooden case has normal wear for its age including bumps and bruises. The original bellows are tight. New bellows gaskets have been fitted. It has 21 treble buttons and 8 bass buttons. The low buttons on each row of the treble side are the standard Hohner accidentals. It has zinc reed plates and steel reeds. The metal grill has been painted silver and the grill cloth is new. The wooden keyboard is original and not broken. The bass and bellows straps are new. I have added new shoulder strap brackets. New straps are available in the Miscellaneous product area and can be shipped with the instrument if ordered at the same time.

I have repadded the pallets on both the bass/chord and treble sides. This provides a quiet action and ensures excellent sealing. I just added new red cushions under the bass button tops. The thumb loop has been removed.

This is a pre-WW2 Made-In-Germany model. The original leather one way valves were all removed and replaced with modern plastic one way valves for long trouble free life. All reedplates were removed, cleaned, one-way valves replaced and remounted and rewaxed onto the reedblocks. Bass valves have composite valves. Final tuning occurs in situ with the reedblocks inside the case. Hohner manufactured this model tuning it to A=442. I have carefully retuned the entire instrument to A=440 Hz to match modern instrument tuning. It is more precisely tuned than when it was manufactured and is playing beautifully. On the treble side the tremolo beat frequency is around 2 Hz for the lowest notes gradually rising to 5 Hz on the upper notes. It is a bit drier than the standard Hohner “wetness”. I use Viennese plus/minus tuning instead of the more common (and easier) zero/plus method so the perceived average is right on pitch.
