Hohner button accordion in the key of G, just tuned. It is rare for me to find a used instrument that is so close to new. This was made in Germany in the Hohner factory. It is in mint condition. The black and gold painted wood case is in excellent shape shows very slight wear for an instrument of this age. The original bellows are airtight and have orange colored papers and black taped edges. It has 10 treble buttons and 4 bass buttons.

The original plastic one way valves on the reedplates were all checked and none needed replacement so it should give a long trouble free life. Tuning occurs in situ with the reedplates attached to the soundboard.

I have improved the instrument by added button travel limiting on the treble side. The buttons stop near the top of the keyboard instead of disappearing far down into the hole- a design flaw on Pokerworks. Another improvement did while the keyboard was off is I have chamfered the sharp corners on the button holes. Just makes it nicer on the fingers when playing.

As the photo shows, the metal grill is in fine shape with no dents. The grill cloths front and back are original and look new. The plastic keyboard is intact with no cracks or missing pieces. The thumb strap is barely worn. The bass has very little wear. It has extra holes so the tightness can be adjusted by removing two screws and selecting another set of holes. The bellows straps have been replaced with new.

Most of these older Hohner accordions are found with numerous notes out of tune, wheezing or not sounding at all. This was just fully tuned. There are 60 reeds in this instrument and every single one has been tuned. The treble reeds were tuned with a tremolo beat frequency of approximately 2 Hz at the low notes gradually rising to about 7 Hz at the high notes, for a sweet tremolo. It is close to standard Hohner tuning.

Unlike most of the older Hohner boxes purchased used, this is ready to play without further adjustment required.
