Fantastic, almost ‘new old stock’ Paolo Soprani Pepperpot button accordion in the key of D. This was in storage in Chicago since the 1950’s. I bought two of these out of Chicago in 2015- red and black. The red one is sold. Rare opportunity to purchase a virtually new Paolo Soprani circa 1954. It has been played lightly for a year or so. The factory tuning is bright and delightful. It was originally tuned with A=446Hz. I carefully shifted the reference frequency down to A=442Hz while maintaining the factory tuning ‘wetness’. I have added pictures showing it next to other similar age Paolo Sopranis. I modified the original odd bass arrangement so now it is the more standard D push A pull on one pair of buttons and G push & pull on the other pair. The box weighs less than 7 pounds and the button push force is a delightfully light 60 grams!
Rare chance to own an instrument from the ‘golden age’ of Paolo Soprani button accordions in near new condition.
